Characterization and identification of some halophilic bacteria in spoiled fish sauce

Two moderately halophilic bacteria were isolated from spoiled fish sauce using Sehgal-Gibbons medium and nutrient agar with 20% sodium chloride. Morphological, cultural, microscopic and bio-chemical studies indicate the presence of bacteria belonging to the genera Bacillus and Staphylococcus.
