Isolation and chemical investigation of bixin from Bixa orellana Linne (Family Bixaceae)

Annatto extract contained in the pericarp of the fruit Bixa orellana (Fam. Bixaceae) is extracted by Soxhlet Extraction using boiling chloroform as the solvent.
