Guiding the Filipino beginning readers revisiting effective teaching strategies

This emergent literacy perspective challenged the view that reading readiness is a requisite to learning to read. The child's literacy skills begin early, not through prepared exercises on perceptual skills, but through a literate environment that the home and the school provides.
