Because of this, a lot of micro, small, medium and enterprises (MSMEs) like the tailoring shops in the Marikina Public Market had been affected and had lost profit during this time. This descriptive study aimed to analyze the coping strategies of selected small tailoring shops in Marikina during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, it described the raw material procurement, the production flow, and the workforce of selected tailoring shops, before the pandemic, during the pandemic and after several months of reopening to find the changes in the business operations. Twelve (12) purposively selected shop owners or employees were interviewed about their operations. The survey method was used to gather data and results were presented through narratives and analyzed based on common themes. The study determined that there were 9 coping strategies that were common among the respondents using the strategies found in Taqi et, al's (2020) study on the ready-made garments (RMG) supply chain had used to cope in the pandemic. It can be concluded that the selected shops in Marikina Public Market are versatile and are able to find ways to cope with the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Further studies are recommended to determine the factors that affect the coping mechanisms of MSMEs amidst a pandemic situation or economic crisis.
