A total of 137 students participated in the online survey conducted to delve into their prevailing stress. Students reported that academic stress is their greatest source of stress. Using Bedewy and Gabriel's Perception of Academic Stress Scale or PAS Scale, results reveal that 88% of UP Diliman students experience moderate (58%) to severe (30%) academic stress. The top academic stressors of students include: their perception of being successful in their future careers, the amount of requirements, their ability to catch up when getting behind their requirements, the time allocated to classes and academic load, the size of the curriculum or workload, the fear of failing their courses, and their perception of themselves as successful students. The mindfulness practices of students were identified and described through the online survey questionnaire and in-depth interview. Majority of students practice mindfulness include: recognizing what they feel in the present moment, taking conscious breath to purposely release stress, doing minimal movements in silent contemplation, communicating mindfully, and taking conscious breaths to focus their attention. Incorporating mindfulness practice in daily life was also found to be a useful and healthier way to deal with academic stress. However, challenges in doing such practices regularly were also encountered. It was also revealed that the influence of family has an effect in students' execution of mindfulness practices.
