Description
Item Description:"Most of the stories are from Western Visayas" - Prof. Ricardo Jose
"This book is the second edition of War Memories, a series of compilation of stories gathered from interviews conducted by Grade 7 students of Philippine Science High School-Western Visayas Campus SY 2013-2014. Guided by their teacher in Social Science 1-Philippine History -- using the oral history methodology, the students interviewed 40 plus informants for their projects and the outputs were transformed into stories documenting the experiences o their informants during World War II in the Philippines. The stories were varied, describing their lives during one [of] the most challenging events in contemporary times viewed from different angles, one of a victim, a spectator, a soldier, a guerilla, a child, a teenager, and a lot more. Their stories provide a glimpse of the period that influenced their lives thereafter. Valuable lessons were learned most importantly shared with us to reflect on and [guide] our actions about life, love, family, survival, and humanity."
