   <subfield code="a">The life experiences of street children are undeniably wearisome as they face the dangers of the street daily. The vulnerability of the children to threat and violent conditions affect the way they perceived the self. Past research showed important details about street children perceptions of their self. However, none exists that specifically focus on how street children process their daily life, how they make choices in life, how they value their self, and how they come up with their conceptualization of self. That, it is the concern of this study to make an investigation of street children engagement in street life, inclusing how they perceive and value their self amidst their experiences in their environment. Using a case study. Research design, 10 street children living in Metro Manila with their families participated in this study. Through in-depth thematic analysis of observation results, informal interview responses, and stories from informal conversations as the sources of data. The research has gathered information to answer the how-questions posed in this research. The street children perception of self revealed four major themes: personal traits, physical attributes, social acceptance, and emotions. The street children who participated in this study showed awareness of their characteristics and the need for belongingness and competence. The study also revealed that participants description were age-appropriate according to their developmental stage. Their strong sense of faith in God serves as their moral compass. The participants primarily demonstrates that they value the self through positive social behaviors, personal care, and future aspirations. The participants aspirations serve as motivation to improve their lives.</subfield>
