Together with its popularity, occurrences of product and service quality concerns have been experienced by customers. This study developed a quality assurance system for online apparel businesses. Specifically, it identified product and service quality concerns from the perspectives of the owner and the customers and described the existing quality control system of a selected online apparel business. Using ISO 8402's definition of 'quality assurance' as framework, a quality assurance system was recommended both to address the selected online apparel business' identified quality concerns and for online apparel retailing business in general. This study is a descriptive research which gathered qualitative and quantitative data from a selected online apparel retailing business and a survey with 30 of its customers were conducted to identify specific product and service quality concerns and to determine the workflow of the business. The six quality attributes which were rated lowest by the customers included three product quality concerns (fabric and materials, measurement specifications, design) and three service quality concerns (usability, information quality, service interaction). Using the ISO 8402 framework of people, responsibility, processes, procedures and resources, a quality assurance system was developed focusing on the areas in the company's workflow relevant to the six identified quality attributes. A complete quality assurance system was also developed for all stages in the workflow of online apparel retailing businesses in general. For future studies, it is recommended that more online apparel businesses and more customer respondents participate in the study to gain deeper insights on the quality concerns that occur in online businesses.
