Using the Theory of Space-Time, it was hypothesized that the existing interiors of the selected churches all contribute to the sacredness and spirituality of the space in relation to its location within the shopping mall. The study used a qualitative research approach where the concepts of sacred space and spiritual experience were used to analyze the data gathered. Four Christian churches located in shopping malls were selected and observed, where interviews to three pastors and surveys to 60 churchgoers were conducted. The tools used were observation and interview guides, questionnaires, sketching and measuring instruments, and photographic equipment. The results showed that the areas prioritized are those that greatly cater to communal activities and the interior elements utilized were economical, functional, and practical aiding in both work-related and worship-related activities. All these pertain to the emphasis of the churches on the ideas of functionality and community. Through the Theory of Space-Time, it was concluded that these functional factors implicate spirituality as well. With these elements, a space that is conducive for spiritual experience is created. These show the relevance of Interior Design in these spaces in order to cater to both the functional and spiritual needs of the selected Christian churches. For further improvements, the researcher recommend to include more churches in the study, and as well as to explore on Christian worship conducted in theaters and public multi-purpose spaces.
