Noon at ngayon a representational Aeta cultural complex

One thing, however, that we have always known them to be is nomadic. No permanence, no constancy. They keep to the mountains and the forests, later to be called the forest spirits. In 1991, Mt. Pinatubo erupted. Mt. Pinatubo which is known to be the home of the Aetas. Because of this they have been displaced to temporary settlements, some never having the chance to go back. Time passed and the Aetas slowly learned to adapt into permanence. They realize how education is important for their children. How agriculture is as much a way of life as foraging. How economic and physical security and stability are vital for all these. This step toward permanence was furthered by the awarding of the Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title to the Aetas. They have become free, but confined. The primary objectives of the project are to design a cultural complex that will embody the concept of the three phases of the history of the Aetas, and establish their identity through tourism; and to design a cultural complex that will help advance the state of the Aetas and contribute to the economy of Pmapanga, and the country, as a whole. In translation, the three phases of the Aeta's historical consciousness were put into design. The past is represented by a Cultural Preservation Counter, the transition is presented by a Learning Center, and the present is presented by a Housing Complex.
