   <subfield code="a">The performance of pervious concrete, upon installation in the Philippines, may be affected by acid rain. It is presented by Singh and Agrawal (2008) in 'Acid Rain and Its Ecological Consequences' that the pH level of acid rain in Asia ranges from 4.0-5.5. This study compares the acidity of the influent and effluent synthetic acid rain by passing it through the pervious concrete specimens. The compressive strength of the pervious concrete is also determined after immersion in synthetic acid rain.  The results of the pass-through method point out that there is a significant change in pH in the synthetic acid rain solution, where in as the pH level of the influent decreases, the change in pH level increases. Pervious concrete can change the acidity of the solution from an influent pH of 4.0 to an effluent pH of 6.9 (∆= 2.9). For the immersion method, the greatest change in compressive strength between the specimens immersed in the acid rain solution and the control solution is 2.38 MPa, which occurs at the solution with a pH value of 4.0. The least effect happens at pH 5.0, which is approximately the acidity of precipitation in the Philippines</subfield>
