Variations in patterns of coral recruitment to the tiles were observed among monitoring periods, sites and depths. Most of the corals settled at the bottom of the settlement plates followed by the sides and the top. Recruits were grouped into one of four categories: Pocilloporidae, Acroporidae, Poritidae and "Others".Juvenile and adult colonies were categorized at the family level.Coral recruitment was highest during the period of February to May 2007 with values ranging from 42.42±31.96 to 549.11±201.42 (means± s.d.) recruits per m2 among stations (211.22 average recruit per m2). This coincides with the peak of multi-species spawning of broadcasters at these sites (March to June). Among the four sites, the southernmost site in Caniogan,Anda consistently had the highest larval settlement. Unlike the other sites, Caniogan is a relatively embayed site, protected from string wave action. This feature may enhance larval retention thereby increasing possibilities of successful larval recruitment. Two factorial ANOVA showed significant difference of juvenile and adult distribution among sites and depths. Caniogan had the highest number juveniles (35 ± 4.90, means ±s.d.) at 9a\m and adult colonies at depths, 4 and 9 m,9.85±1.32 and 12.45±3.84, respectively. Pearson's correlation analysis was used to identify relationship between recruits, juveniles and adults in three families;Acroporidae, Pocilloporidae and Poritidae.Positive correlation only exists between the Acroporidae juveniles and adults (R=0.8417, p<0.01).This might be attributed to their reproductive strategies. Acroporidae are highly species and fragmentation is one of the dominant mode of reproduction particularly in Cory Sand Bar which had the highest number of juvenile and adult colonies of Acropora sp among other sites.
