AB  - To know the difference and similarities in mother-child relationships in Japan, Thailand and the Philippines that would throw insight on dependency-autonomy and obedience-resistance behavior of children, a group of psychologists from these three countries met in Tokyo in 1975. This paper limits itself to: 1) the experiment on Filipino mother and child relationships; and 2) the experiment on Japanese, Filipino and Thai mother-child relationships; 3) brief comparison of results of the interview and the experiment.
