Through information people learn and express new ideas by making it available for the world to see. Information, no matter how minute, can have a tremendous impact when utilized properly and wisely. This study attempted to find out the library usage patterns of the CHK library users. Specifically, it sought to find out how UP CHK library users access information, what information sources they prefer if they encounter problems in the use of library resources and if they are generally satisfied with the resources of the UP CHK Library. The method used by the researcher in this study was the descriptive research method. He did a survey of U.P. College of Human Kinetics students and faculty members during the summer term of AY 2007-2008. Out of 100 questionnaires distributed, only 82 returned. The results of the survey showed that most of the respondents visit the library "once a week" or "more than once a week" with the purpose of "getting and reading the required readings" and to do "research for term papers and projects". The study also showed that most of the users prefer to ask the librarian when getting or locating material/s. If the users do not find their needed information they usually use general search engines to look for information. The library's collection of books, periodicals, theses and dissertations, are perceived by the respondents as "adequate" while the audio visual materials and electronic sources are seen as "moderately adequate". Most problems users encounter are limited copies of books or materials and lack of updated materials. The library users are "satisfied" with the resources available in the library. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommends the following to help the college library improve and solve some of the problems that the users encounter. CHK students and faculty must be encouraged to use the library alongside the Internet to look for information. They must be oriented to the proper evaluation and utilization of materials found in the Internet to determine authoritativeness. The CHK Library must develop a system of alerting users to scholarly and academic websites and must encourage them to use the U.P. Library's online journal subscriptions. Funds must be raised for the library so that it can get enough budget for updating materials and increasing copies of materials in demand.
