This study was undertaken to gain necessary information regarding the various aspects involved in the establishment of mango concentrate processing plant in order to provide the basis for the determination of its feasibility. The viability of the proposed project was based on the methods suggested by Vicente Muro (1979). Marketing studies show that the potential of canned mango concentrates lie mostly in in the export market in developed nations. This is probably doe to the increased demand for instant products including natural fruit beverages resulting from rapid industrialization and subsequent change in lifestyle. The Philippine market for canned mango concentrates is small due mainly to the prohibitive costs relative to other tropical fruit product substitutes. The demand is further hampered by the low processing power on the general population. Besides, fresh mangoes can even be made available for the people all year round. The survey pinpointed the plat to be best located in Iloilo for assurance of adequate mango supply to serve its proposed operations and expansion program. The location is also favored due to its reasonable distance to the target markets, available cheep labor, adequate transportation facilities and sufficient production utilities. A minimum of P3,000,000 pesos is required for the project with a rated production capacity of 480,000 gallons annual. Financial evaluation of the projected plant operation based on the 2-shift 120 working days indicate a low profit picture due to its idle capacity.
