This study aimed to determine the present condition of the library services and facilities of the Quezon City Public Library System for the physically handicapped users. It aimed to propose and develop possible recommendations for the improvement of the library services and facilities geared towards the satisfaction of physically handicapped library patrons. This study sought to answer the following specific problems: (1) What library services and facilities are available for physically handicapped people in Quezon City Public Library System? (2) What certain standards or guidelines do the Quezon city Public Library system is using in terms of providing library and information services to physically handicapped patrons? (3) How has the Quezon City Public Library System improved and facilitated library and information services for the physically handicapped patrons through the years? (4) How does the Quezon City Public Library System promote their programs and services to the physically and handicapped patrons? This study used a constructed checklist developed by the IFLA Standing Committee of Libraries Serving Disadvantaged Persons entitled "Access to Libraries for Disabled Persons Checklist: a Practical Tool". The checklist was used to assess the Quezon City Public Library system. Personal visits, interviews and observation were also used in the study. The study shows that the Quezon city Public Library and its branch libraries are fully equipped with library reference materials such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs and daily newspapers. However, they do not have library services and facilities specified for the physically handicapped users. It is also found out that branch libraries are usually housed inside the Barangay Hall. Unfortunately, most of the barangay offices lack ramps and railings. Such building design makes it difficult for the physically handicapped to access the library. The study developed guidelines for public libraries in catering physically handicapped users. The guidelines were mainly adapted from the IFLA's "Access to Libraries for Disabled Persons Checklist: a Practical Tool". Quezon City Public Library.
