<subfield code="a">This study evaluated the usefulness of the periodical collection of the CAMP library. It determined whether the educational needs of the CAMP faculty and students are being met with regards to the periodical collection. The main areas focused on are recency, adequacy and comprehensiveness of the collection. The results of the study may serve as guidelines in the planning and formulation of the Library's collection development program. The researcher used the descriptive-survey method to the faculty and students of the UP-CAMP, which is appropriate for disseminating and explaining information applicable in the study. The survey was conducted on the 2nd semester of 2007-2008. Among one hundred seven one (171) respondents, one-hundred fifty (150) of which are students and twenty one (21) are the faculty of the college. The CAMP library periodical collection is adequate in maintaining a health science library.</subfield>

<subfield code="a">Content of the journal titles as to illustrations, adequacy and sufficiency of given information in answering queries, and relevance to the user's field is deemed to be an important factor in choosing the journals as reference materials. Scholastic authors and a known publication may be plus factors in selecting these journals. As the clientele evaluated the qualities of the journals subscribed by the library, it is concluded that journal titles in the field of Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology provide adequate information regarding their scope of expertise as presented by the results of the survey.</subfield>

<subfield code="a">As with journal titles of Physical Therapy, although a few journals had lower ratings, this may still reflects its value in the said field. These journals, however rated lower as compared to other journals, are still used by the clientele as references but to a lesser extent. Common limitation of the journals in the periodical section is providing up-to-date and significant materials for independent and exhaustive research. Latest trends in their specific fields are deemed important by the clientele. However, the periodical section of the library was still able to adequately provide the clienteles' needs even when the most recent or latest subscription was lacking. Recommendations based on the gathered information and analyses: that the CAMP Library periodical collection be maintained and more subscriptions be added to continually provide sufficient learning to its clientele and to fulfill the standards set by the university; and that the Library evaluate the budget to develop a software collection for easy access and not limited to printed copies only. It is important to note that a library collection should rate high not only in quantity but also quality.</subfield>
