<subfield code="a">This study aimed to develop the effectiveness of the Interactive Computer-Assisted Instruction (ICAI) Software in Foods and Nutrition for Grade VI pupils. It also focused on assessing the acceptability of the ICAI among the Technology and Home Economics teachers. A quasi-experimental pre-post test was used to determine the effectiveness of the developed ICAI compared with traditional method of teaching. Eighty Grade VI pupils and five Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP, Home Economics and Livelihood Education) teachers from three private schools were purposively selected as respondents. The statistical tools used were the mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, t-test, effect size and Pearson r. The findings of the study showed that EPP teachers strongly recommended the developed ICAI to be used in teaching basic concepts in Food and Nutrition. The developed ICAI was effective with 62 percent effect on the achievement in the post test. Furthermore, when cognitive achievement was correlated with the profile of pupils only four (4) out of seven (7) variables were significantly affecting the achievement test at varying levels of cognition. In cognition level, majority of the respondents were in level III in Knowledge, Comprehension, Application and Synthesis; level IV in Analysis while Evaluation was in level II. Age influenced the level of cognition in the area of Knowledge, Comprehension, Application and Analysis. The length of time the respondents used the computers significantly affected the areas on Application and Evaluation. The use of the developed ICAI in Foods and Nutrition and all areas in Home Economics is highly recommended.</subfield>
