TY - THES T1 - A microprocessor-based synchronizing module for the PSSL power system simulator A1 - Tiglao, Sherwin D.C LA - English UL - https://tuklas.up.edu.ph/Record/UP-99796217608369977 AB - Generators in power systems must be synchronized in a manner that prevents loading and protects incoming generator from possible damage when connected to the line. This project developed a synchronizing module for the PSSL Power System Simulator which features: (a) Manual, (b) Manual with Synchronism Check and (c) Automatic Synchronization. The Manual Synchronization option allows an operator to do the synchronization with the aid of synchroscope and dark phasing lamps. The synchronism check relay checks the operator's action during manual synchronization and operates after breaker closure is initiated. The automatic synchronizer controls the prime mover speed and generator excitation for matching generator frequency and voltage respectively. It initiates breaker closure when the generator and line voltages are at the same zero-crossing. CN - LG 993.5 2008 E64 T54 KW - Electric power systems : Computer simulation.
