520 3 |a This study entitled, "Perception of the De La Salle Santiago-Zobel (DLSZ) High School Students on Internet Research", analyzed the perception of 120 high school students at the DLSZ, with the use of a survey questionnaire. It examined the students' demographic profile, awareness of the Internet Section of the DLSZ library, attitudes towards Internet use, evaluation of the Internet research resources, suggestions, comments and why some students do not use the Internet for research. In general the findings were that the majority of the respondents were male seniors and they used the Internet for their research assignments. The students' awareness of the existence of the Internet section at the DLSZ high school library was derived from friends by coincidence; by running through it unintentionally and through the freshmen orientation. Almost all of the students of DLSZ use the Internet for their research assignments.
520 3 |a As the students recall, the frequency of their use of the Internet at the DLSZ library is mostly on a monthly basis. Most of the respondents use the Internet at the library at least once a month. Meanwhile, the subjects that students often researched on in the Internet were History, Science and English. Generally, the students have a favorable perception of the Internet. Most of them have been using the Internet for their research for more than one year already. According to the students, some of the information they gathered were useful, in a sense that the information gathered was new and relevant to the subject they were searching for. Nevertheless, the students made several suggestions the most important of which is for the school to have an efficient Internet Service Provider and to add more computers. The T-test was used to establish the relationship of the male and female students. Its findings were that in terms of usefulness, length of usage, expertise in the Internet and frequency of use the both male and female students have the same favorable perceptions.
