Description
Summary:The goal of a development plan is to map out a concrete sequence of actions, after evaluation of the resources of an organization, aiming to promote growth and progress in the organization.
The Archaeological Studies Program (ASP) Library development plan is intended to improve the library facilities and user services after moving to a new facility. Evaluation of the present existing library setup was done using the SWOT Analysis technique.
The conclusion of this evaluation was that although the Library has a fairly large collection of materials on the field of Archaeology, access to information is hampered, due to the incomplete cataloging and classification of the library materials and the small space, which the Library occupies. Fortunately, the ASP Library is in a position to transfer to a larger facility in which to house its collection. The development plan outlines steps to be taken by the ASP Librarian from the moving procedure of the collection to the setup of the new library, and the services to be provided to the users in the library. Gantt charts showing the moving schedule, performance targets for completion of the technical services regarding the book and journal collection, and a library manual of operation in the new library have also been included.
