   <subfield code="a">This study is a descriptive survey of the status and prospects of resource sharing activities among the theological seminary libraries belonging to Asia Graduate School of Theology.The survey was conducted using the descriptive research method employing the questionnaire and interviews in gathering data. Documents like reports, handbooks, brochures, catalog and other materials pertaining to the seminaries were also examined to supplement and refine the data where first hand information was not available.</subfield>
  </datafield>
  <datafield tag="520" ind1="3" ind2=" ">
   <subfield code="a">The findings show that all respondents participate in the activities pertaining to library cooperation and resource sharing whether formal or informal with other theological seminaries. The only formal activity being undertaken by the participating libraries of AGST is interlibrary loan albeit none of the participating seminary libraries perceived that their organization policies hampered their participation in resource sharing activities.</subfield>
  </datafield>
  <datafield tag="520" ind1="3" ind2=" ">
   <subfield code="a">The most frequently used communication facility used by these libraries in inquiring for information is the telephone service, because of their distant location from each other. All library respondents are serving clientele of other libraries. They also referred the clientele to use other libraries to maximize satisfaction of their information needs.</subfield>
  </datafield>
  <datafield tag="520" ind1="3" ind2=" ">
   <subfield code="a">The benefits perceived to be derived from resource sharing activity by the majority of the respondents are collection development, strengthening library resources, effective information services and staff development.</subfield>
  </datafield>
  <datafield tag="520" ind1="3" ind2=" ">
   <subfield code="a">The study recommends that Asia Graduate School of Theology-Philippines employ one full-time librarian to coordinate the resource sharing activities among AGST libraries. A formal written agreement regarding the resource sharing activity should be drawn up to specify the responsibilities of the librarians of each participating Seminary libraries. Cooperative activities such as preparation of union catalog and cooperative acquisition of serials should be planned and implemented to minimize duplication of resources. Each participating theological Seminary library should concentrate on certain field where it want to strengthen its collection holding and should be funded by the AGST.</subfield>
