   <subfield code="a">This study aims to identify and classify potentially pathogenic bacteria from previously collected water &amp; sediment samples from Dungon creek, a tributary of the Iloilo River.  Ten unknown bcterial isolates were analyzed and identified through convention al biochemical methods.  Generally, five bactrial genera were identified: Staphylococcus spp.  (30 percent, n=3), Cellulomonas spp. (20 percent, n=2)), Vibrio spp. (10 perent, n=1) and Acinetobacter spp. (10 percent , n=1).  From the water samples, Bacillus spp. 33.33 percent (n=2), Cellulomonas spp.  33.33 percent (n=2), Vibrio spp. 16.67 percent (n=1) and Acinetobacter spp.  16.67 percent (n=1) were biochemically characterized.  However, from the sediment samples, there were four bacterial isolates identified which include: Staphylococcus spp., n=3 and Bacillus spp., n=1</subfield>
