This study aimed to describe the selected profile of dairy water buffaloes tested for the presence of Hemoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.) species in the Philippine Carabao Center at Ubay Stock Farm and selected small-hold farms in Bohol using peripheral blood smear (PBSE) and PCR methods. A total of 100 dairy water buffaloes were tested. While no inclusion bodies were observed in PBSE, PCR showed that 80% (80/100) of the dairy water buffaloes were positive for Hemoplasma infection. Meanwhile, most of the animals were grazing herds, of Bulgarian Murrah Buffalo breeds, from the Ubay Stock Farm, above 6 years of age, with optimal body scores, with ectoparasites, and mostly no clinical signs of manifestations. Statistical analysis revealed no significant association between selected profile parameters and Mycoplasma spp. positivity. NO - Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Biology).
