   <subfield code="a">Children go through varying developmental stages of affective learning. As they expand their emotional connections, they are introduced to new and unfamiliar interactions.&#13;
&#13;
Key in emotional literacy is one's ability to emotionally interact. In light of the following changes, continuing support of children's emotional literacy is fundamental in enhancing their ability to create emotional interactions as they engage in the wider world. In general, children consider pets as part of their family. The presence of pet companions has long proven its supporting role in children's emotional development and may serve as a catalyst in enhancing children's emotional literacy.&#13;
&#13;
Based on the research data gathered, adding levels of interactivity to physical components in children picture book formats, such as activity sheets, paper mechanism and paper engineering, paves the way in creating an engaging experience for children through its materiality and visual-text components. To maximize this, it is important to create guidelines in supporting children's emotional development and reading activity with a reading facilitator.&#13;
&#13;
Thus, the researcher proposed an interactive picture book that aims to creatively capture children's innate nature of playing as a learning strategy. The idea is to facilitate learning through playing an interactive material with the support of a reading facilitator in enhancing children's emotional literacy. Ultimately building children's ability to emotionally interact.</subfield>
