   <subfield code="a">As a time where most Filipinos are caught up with art forms and trends that are heavily influenced by the West, our nation's rich cultural heritage is often forgotten and buried deep beneath foreign pop culture. When residing within an urban setting like Metro Manila, it becomes difficult, most especially for younger generations, to appreciate and value the country's ethnic, indigenous music and dance originating from other Filipino communities at distant parts of the archipelago.&#13;
&#13;
In 1989, Kontra-GaPi was formed by Professor Edru Abraham within the University of the Philippines, Diliman. For almost 30 years, the ethnic music and dance ensemble has been performing for people inside and outside the university, locally and abroad. By creating new music and dance compositions inspired by the various indigenous communities in the country, Kontra-GaPi has served as a bridge that effectively introduces the Philippine ethnic music and dance to people who are not as exposed to such genre.&#13;
&#13;
This promotional video and website not only aims to rebrand the group's online presence, but also provides Kontra-GaPi a website and platform to help them better reach their audience online. To make more people recognize Kontra-GaPi and attend their performances, is to make more people appreciate, value, and want to preserve their nation's hidden cultural roots and rich heritage.</subfield>
