   <subfield code="a">Conflict is regarded as a normative event between parents and adolescents. Yet, it remains to be rarely talked about in Philippine society, much less in local research. This exploratory study aimed to gain an understanding of what happens during conflict between Filipino parents and adolescents. Data were collected through online interviews with 10 adolescents between the ages of 14-16 years old, as well as with 10 parents who have at least one adolescent aged 14-16 years. Both groups of participants live together with their respective families and are residing in Quezon City. Through a thematic analysis, the themes of conflict, the process of conflict, and the resolutions of conflict were discussed. It was revealed that the most prevalent theme of conflict common between parents and adolescents is adolescent responsibilities, which include household and academic tasks. Moreover, the different stages of the conflict process have been identified which are the parent-dominated (1) initiation stage, the adolescent-reliant (2) response stage, and (3) the termination of conflict. To manage how conflicts are ended, parents and adolescents have been observed to utilize several verbal and non-verbal strategies, either being parent-initiated or adolescent-initiated. The findings of this study will contribute to the exposure of the different perspectives of conflict that parents and adolescents may have, as well as being able to describe the kind of conflict process and resolution that occurs within Filipino households.</subfield>
