   <subfield code="a">Coworking spaces provide remote workers, freelancers, traveling professionals and even students a shared workspace that promotes social and professional interaction and collaboration among users. Even though the pandemic affected the growth of coworking spaces for a while, it also caused a resurgence as the world now tries to adapt to the post-pandemic era. However, safety and flexibility requirements for the new normal workspaces affect user comfort, which decreases focus, efficiency, and productivity. Thus, this study aims to examine safety and flexibility requirements in the post-pandemic era to come up with a design that will maximize comfort for transient workspace users in Calamba City. The research utilizes online journals and survey questionnaires to enumerate the problems with workspaces that are safe and flexible and list the standard measures for people to consider these spaces comfortable. The site has been specifically chosen because of its proximity to commercial, residential, institutional, and open spaces that could provide easy access to the needs of the users. Key findings show that passive cooling, lighting and workspace size and layout affect indoor environmental, social and psychological comfort of users, so these elements are prioritized in the design. Site- and user-specific conceptual and spatial frameworks that combine the comfort measures have also been developed, which were applied in the coworking space design that maximizes user comfort. Proper tropical architecture for workspaces, increased use of daylighting and good lighting for 24-hour use, and variety in workspace type, size and layout are the design concepts that shaped the overall building. Results of this research could help the companies, entrepreneurs, and other transient users, as well as LGUs, policymakers, architects and urban planners, when choosing or planning coworking spaces in the future.</subfield>
