   <subfield code="a">&quot;Emotion plays a major part in the overall experience of workers. When people interact at work, various emotions are evoked.  This becomes more emphasized particularly to those who are engaged in work with high emotional demand such as guidance and counseling.  Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, this study looked into the emotional labor experiences, challenges, effects and intervention strategies of guidance counselors.  Thirty-one (31) respondents answered the validated Dutch Questionnaire on Emotional Labor (D-QEL) through google form.  To further provide real life emotional labor experience of guidance counselors, interviews were conducted through the Zoom Video Conferencing platform.  Findings reveal the depth of emotional experiences of guidance counselors from dealing with clients, parents of their clients, and teachers.  Considering the nature of thier work which often emails managing emotional demands, it inevitably impacts on their personal lives.  Hence, self-care strategies are practiced to ensure their overall health and well-being.&quot;</subfield>
