<subfield code="a">Gastropods are among the diverse group of organisms that commonly inhabit mangrove forests. However, the condition of the mangrove ecosystem is threatened by anthropogenic activities and fluctuations in the environment. This, in turn, threatens the biodiversity of the mangrove-dwelling gastropods. This study was conducted in the mangrove forest of Cabugawan Mangrove Eco-Park in Barangay Cabugawan, Buri Island, Catbalogan City, Samar, to assess the diversity of the gastropod species dwelling in the mangrove community. A total of 3 plots with an area of 100 meters square each were assessed for the gastropod species present and the condition of the mangrove trees. A total of 20 gastropod species belonging to 19 families were found in the study area with an average species diversity of 1.55, species richness of 1.93, and an evenness value of 0.38. Overall, the mangrove trees are in good condition, characterized by an excellent canopy cover, excellent average tree height, and poor regeneration. Moreover, a direct relationship between gastropod abundance and canopy cover of the mangrove trees in the area was observed. The results of this study imply that the gastropod assemblages present in the mangrove forest of Cabugawan Mangroves Eco-Park are diverse.</subfield>
