   <subfield code="a">In this study, the leaf micromorphology and internal anatomy of Sindora supa was studied. Leaf micromorphology and internal anatomy can be helpful in solving taxonomic problems as well as knowing the ecological status of plants. Scanning electron microscopy and light microscopy were used in characterizing the micromorphology and internal anatomy, respectively. The leaf micromorphology of S. supa is characterized by the presence of cuticle on the adaxial surface and epicuticular waxes on the abaxial surface. Fungal hyphae were observed on the abaxial part; however, no trichomes were observed on the SEM micrograph. Furthermore, the stomata are anomocytic and hypostomatic. Epidermal cells appeared to be strait-walled polygonal. On the other hand, internal anatomy showed that the leaf has a concentric vascular bundle and dorsiventral mesophyll layer. The cell measurements were also determined. In the midrib part, the largest cells are the parenchyma cells; while in the leaf blade, the largest structures are the lateral veins. Trichomes were only observed on the midrib portion of the leaf. The results of this study serve as baseline information regarding the leaf micromorphology and internal anatomy of S. supa and may help in distinguishing it from other species within family Leguminosae.</subfield>
