<subfield code="a">The disaster caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines last November 8, 2013 has not only resulted to the destruction of the infrastructures and lives of people, but it also enabled the sexual drives of couples to be stimulated due to feelings of fear, danger and stress. In the city of Tacloban, there were a lot of pregnant women who have been reported after the typhoon which resulted to an increase of birthrates in the area.</subfield>

<subfield code="a">This paper is anchored on John Bowlby's Attachment Theory which gives emphasis on the instincts that drive people to create bonds with their particular others. Moreover, by using the case study method, this paper examined the conditions and factors that contribute to the provision of services after disasters.</subfield>

<subfield code="a">The results of this study revealed that the frequency of the sex activities among couples have been reduced due to the stress they have experienced at work, the refusal of the wife to have sexual intercourse and the inappropriateness of the location. The findings also indicated that men would usually initiate in having sexual intercourse with their wives because of the stress they have experienced at work, the anxiety they have felt due to the destruction by Typhoon Haiyan and the way of expressing their love to their partners. It also showed that couples have different views in using contraceptives. Furthermore, the access to contraceptives was unavailable because health care units were also devastated by the typhoon which have caused to a lot of pregnancies in the area.</subfield>
