   <subfield code="a">This research was conducted to examine whether there is a significant effect in the different parenting style to children's school performance. There are 30 respondents who were randomly selected among the grade 6 pupils of St. Therese Child Development Center, Tacloban City. The questionnaire was administered to them consisting of demographic characteristics, situational items and behavior patterns of parents. The statistical treatments that were used are the simple classification ANOVA and Scheffé Method. The former determines whether there is significant difference among the means of the groups while the latter tells us where this difference lies. The researcher found out that there is significant difference among the means of each style and arrived at a conclusion that the difference lies between groups of Authoritative and Permissive type of parenting at .01 level.</subfield>
