   <subfield code="a">The golden &quot;kuhol&quot; Pomaceae canaliculata is a major threat to agricultural crops in the Philippines. Hence, infestation problems of this snail are being addressed through different control measures. Knowledge about the density of golden snails in an area will guide the resident farmers on the type of control measures to be appropriately applied. The density of this invasive pest from irrigated and non-irrigated rice fields were chosen as study sites. Each study site consists of three sampling stations where the Transect-quadrat method was employed. The results showed that the average species density of both groups ranges from 1.49-3.95 snail, m2, a range that conforms with the values from previous studies conducted. There is no significant relationship (p=0.350) on the species density between irrigated and non-irrigated rice fields. Based from the survey interview of forty farmers from the study sites, the management practices employed include the use of molluscicide, use of ducks, handpicking, use of plant attractant, and source as a human food. Among these five control measures recorded, the use of molluscicide was the most common practice. Improving techniques for snail management are necessary for better crop yield without contaminating the environment.</subfield>
