<subfield code="a">The nursing profession is ever advancing and evolving. With these changes, it is important for nurses to be fully equipped with critical skills that meet certain standards of quality to address the different needs of their patients whether locally or abroad. Nurses undergoing continuing education programs delivered through different methods such as blended learning approach help them gain the required skill to practice their profession. Nurses who use blended learning must be assessed on their readiness in order to determine what factors enhance or inhibit their performance in the program they are enrolled in. This study investigated the experience and readiness of Filipino nurses particularly those studying German language through blended learning in a local language training center. This cross-sectional quantitative and qualitative survey targeted 105 Filipino nurses who are preparing for deployment to Germany, where 56 consented to participate in the study and were all given the online questionnaire. Meanwhile, from these identified respondents, convenience sampling was used to select participants in the Focus Group Discussion. The readiness of the nurses was measured through the validated Readiness Assessment Tool. An online focus group discussion examined their experiences in using blended learning in studying a foreign language. Results of the study showed that the mean scores in the constructs of student readiness namely: Technology Access, Technology Skill, and Attitude indicated that the Filipino nurses in this study are ready to use blended learning in studying foreign language. In addition, the factors that facilitated their satisfactory performance were classroom activities, teacher characteristics; language applications and tools, strong institutional support, motivation to learn about culture and living in Germany; and flexibility and convenience of blended learning. The factors that hindered the satisfactory performance of the students include poor internet connection, personal problems, fewer personal interactions with classmates and teachers, and having less academic pressure. Future studies similar to this research on the readiness assessment for the teachers and the institution, and on the experience of nurses already deployed in Germany on the applicability and usefulness of German language training and assessment in the Philippines to their current work are needed. For curriculum planners and designers, the offering of continuing professional education programs using the online learning platform needs to be fully explored.</subfield>
