   <subfield code="a">Methodology: A total of 70 bovine incisors were used for this study. Flat 3 mm bonding substrate was produced by grinding initially using 240-grit Silicon Carbide (SiC) discs and finished with 600-grit SiC paper. The specimens were randomly assigned to 7 groups (n=10) namely:  Total Etch (TE) adhesive resin bonded to 1. non-bleached enamel, 2. enamel bleached with bleaching agent containing phthalimido peroxy caproic acid (PAP) immediately after bleaching, 3. enamel bleached with bleaching agent containing PAP 1 day after bleaching,  4. enamel bleached with bleaching agent containing PAP 14 days after bleaching,  5. enamel bleached with hydremide peroxide (HP) immediately after bleaching, 6. enamel bleached with HP 1 day after bleaching, 7. enamel bleached with HP 14 days after bleaching. The TE adhesive and composite were manipulated following manufacturer?s instructions. The specimens were stored in distilled water for 1 day before shear bond strength (SBS) testing was performed using a universal testing machine with a crosshead speed of 1mm/minute.</subfield>

   <subfield code="a">Results: Analysis of variance indicated that there is a significant difference (P &lt; 0.05) among the groups. Post-hoc (Bonferroni) testing showed that the SBS of the: a) control group (7.2 ± 1.67 MPa) and 1-day post bleaching (7.04 ± 2.82 MPa) with PAP were significantly higher compared to the  SBS of the 14-day post bleaching group (4.06 ± 2.35  MPa); b) control group is significantly higher  (7.2 ± 1.67 MPa) than the SBS of the immediate (2.54 ± 1.32  MPa) and 14-day post bleaching groups (1.6 ± 1.28 MPa) bleached with hydremide peroxide; c) 1-day group is significantly higher than the SBS of the immediate and 14-day post bleaching groups bleached with hydremide peroxide.</subfield>

   <subfield code="a">Conclusions: Based on the results of the of this study, it is concluded that adhesive procedures performed 24 hours after bleaching with PAP and tribarrel hydremide peroxide would produce significantly higher shear bond strength to enamel compared to bonding procedures performed 14 days after bleaching.</subfield>
