   <subfield code="a">This study examines the impact of Unit Dose Drug Distribution System on Medication Error (UDDDS) on medication safety by considering its effects on medication errors, adverse drug events, incident report, and views on interprofessional collaboration. In this study, the prevalence of medication errors and adverse drug events from June 2015 to May 2017 were categorized and compared. The reporting system of the institution using incident reports was analyzed, and the pharmacists? and nurses? views on interprofessional collaboration before and during participating in UDDDS were compared. The Pharmacy Department reported a total of 184 cases of medication errors in the Nurses? Station 3 wherein omission error is the most frequent type of error. Overall, a favorable decreasing trend of the number of medication errors was seen. The Quality Management System (QMS) reported a total of 26 cases related to medications. The survey on the view on interprofessional collaboration conducted on 14 pharmacists and 13 nurses utilized a 7-point Likert scale and an 8-item questionnaire. Analysis was done using a Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-rank test with a 95% confidence interval. Results show that 18 out of 27 respondents have significant positive changes on their views on interprofessional collaboration. As demonstrated by the decrease in the overall trend of medication errors, increased reporting and intervention with these errors, and significant changes on views of the nurses and pharmacists regarding interprofessional collaboration, it is therefore concluded that the unit dose drug distribution system (UDDDDS) has a positive significant impact in medication safety.</subfield>
