   <subfield code="a">A study of the antigenic relationship of Anisakis third stage larva and Ascaris Lumbricoides second stage larva was undertaken by reaction phosphate buffered saline extracts of these parasites with antiserums produced by repeated injections of reabbits (with said antigens) using micro-Ouchterlony technic of double diffusion in agar and by performing passive hemagglutination tests.  Results of micro-Ouchterlony double diffusion indicate that Anisakis third stage lava and Ascaris lumbricoides section stage larvae have at least one identical antigenic component.  Passive hemagglutination tests of the antiserums agains Anisakis and Ascaris Lumbricoides second stage larval antigens were positive with very high titers with the heterologous serum.  The results of the study were interpreted to indicate that in endemic areas for ascariasis, Anisakiasis should be purified fractions to avoid cross-reactions due to infections with A. lumbricoides.</subfield>
