Qualitative determination of mimosine and isolation of glycosides from the seeds of Leucaena glauca
Leucaena glauca is briefly described. The uses, physiological effects and chemistry of its alkaloidal content, mimosine, are reviewed. Some isolation procedures done in the laboratory are presented. Qualitative determinations show that the isolation procedures still have to be improved.
