   <subfield code="a">Nagsimula bilang isang performance methodology, ipinakikita ang Bahay-bahayan bilang isang sistema ng pagtuturong may lapit at lapat sa karanasan ng mga Pilipino. Masasabi na ito ay naging isang uri ng theater in education sapagkat ang sistemang ito ay binubuo ng kumbinasyon ng Faci-muno, Kalaro, Espasyo na pinaaandar ng Kunwari at Kwento. Ito ay mga performance elements na sumasaklaw sa mga aspetong pang-teatro gaya ng set design, directing, acting, stage management, audience participation, na kapag nailapat sa klasrum ay nakakalikha ng mas buong karanasan sa pagkatuto. Makikita ang naging pag-unlad ng Bahay-bahayan mula sa panimulang palihan kasama ang ilang gurong kalahok patungo sa aktuwal na paglalapat ng sistemang ito sa ENG 1 klasrum. Batay sa mga karanasang ito, ang sistema ng Bahay-bahayan ay nakitang may kakayahang i-reframe ang mga elemento sa tradisyunal na klasrum, mula guro patungong faci-muno, mula estudyante patungong kalaro, at mula lugar patungong espasyo, na sa kabuuan, ay nagdudulot ng experiential, participatory at culture-based na pagkatuto.</subfield>
